Yes, I'm hopelessly in love with this couple. They are my favorite couple at the moment. There are several reasons for this.

In addition to being totally in love with this kind of story (psychological terror) and loving Naomi Watts, I think the series has an incredible script and that the first season was very well developed. I felt trapped from the first episode until the last moment of the final episode. And since the first exchange of look between Jean / Sidney, I fell in love. And in the course of the season, observing all the events between them, the dialogues, the exchange of looks, the touches ... I reach the conclusion that even though both are crazy and the relation of them toxic, somehow strange they are soul mates. And I think it's beautiful.

I think Sidney is capable of loving and accepting Jean exactly as she is. He can understand her need to get away from reality, which Michael can not. Jean is not an unscrupulous psychopath, she is a woman full of defects and visibly unstable who does not feel satisfied with her life and therefore needs to eventually escape. Although Sidney does not carry the same kind of ruled life as Jean, the girl also feels alone.

It's visible, especially the moment she tells Jean inside her car that Sam is getting married, that everyone is moving on with their lives and she goes on alone. Sidney likes to venture, but she is human and also has to feel something beyond danger and adrenaline. She also needs love. But he is incapable of loving a manipulative and dependent person like Sam. Sidney needs someone just like her. Jean is just like her. Both see each other. It is as if they both unite and become one. And I find it fucking romantic.
