Making My Own Power! Building a Hand Crank Generator

Today we build a small hand-powered 5v DC generator. This project can be used to power some small led's or a cellphone, or even just to play around with power generation on a small scale. (Note: I didn't actually use this to charge my phone at the end as I don't fully trust my 5v regulators with the life of my phone. This was just a proof of concept, and this specific motor and setup probably don't produce enough current to do what was shown here.)

Parts list:
1x Nema-17 Stepper Motor
8x IN4001 Diode
**2x 50v 3300uF Capacitors
1x L7805CV Voltage Regulator
Breadboard/Jumper Wires

**This part can be changed out with any other similar capacitor that has a rating over 5v and a large capacitance
