Canon I9900 Salvage
Time to extract anything useful from my defunct Canon I9900 printer
In the previous video we looked at the possibility of repair but that was a failure so now I am going to strip it down for usefull bit to use for experementing with
I ended up with
2 Steppers
2 DC Motors
4 Optical Sensors (Slot and reflective)
2 positional encoders, one linear and one rotorary
8mm and 6mm Steel rods, precision ground
A powersupply with 3V3, 20V and 27V outputs
A handfull of various springs and screws
Loads of recyclable ABS plastic
Just goes to show that even in death, the printer can provide some usefull parts, Lazer printers are even better at giving up goodies and useually bigger steppers etc
Enjoy
