Criminal History Means No Australian Citizenship?

In this video Oszkar discusses what it means to be of good character for the purpose of an application for Australian Citizenship.

When you apply for citizenship, you must provide a police certificate, and if that certificate shows any criminal history, or even if there are criminal charges pending against you, then the Immigration Department will consider whether you pass the “character test” for the purpose of the Australian Citizenship legislation.

In this video Oszkar gives four case examples from recent decisions of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal:
1. Repeated fraudulent conduct over many years – outcome unsuccessful
2. Domestic violence (one off, years ago) – outcome successful
3. Repeated driving offences – outcome unsuccessful
4. Indecent assault (one off) – outcome successful
