Physician Voice: My Work Can Be Like Spinning Plates in the Circus
Like many primary care physicians, David Ting, MD, MPH, sees patients about every 15 minutes. But the time before and after each appointment requires preparation and follow-up that translates into about an hour per patient visit. Dr. Ting describes how managing all the moving parts begins to feel like a circus act. Physician Voice videos have been produced by CRICO, the patient safety and malpractice insurance company owned by and serving the Harvard-affiliated medical institutions since 1979. CRICO is an internationally renowned leader in evidence-based risk management, serving more than 12,000 physicians (including residents and fellows), 20 hospitals, and nearly 300 health care organizations and other related entities. www.rmf.harvard.edu
