Williamsburg Then and Now

In 1930, Harvard University created a film capturing the pre-restoration state of Williamsburg. In 2014, Colonial Williamsburg photographers drove the route again documenting the dramatic changes that occurred in the intervening 84 years.

As these two videos demonstrate, transforming a quiet 20th-century town back into the 18th-century colonial capital was no small feat.
