A quick update about the COVID-19 situation in Sicily

Here are the anti-Covid measures implemented by the government to try to reduce the outbreak of contagion. These will be in effect until December 3rd 2020.

🔵 TRAVELING TO SICILY IS NOT ADVISABLE UNTIL DECEMBER 3RD
Starting on November 5th and up until December 3rd, 2020, travel to Sicily is not advisable, except for business, health, or some other need.

🔵 YOU MUST WEAR A MASK
The use of a mask, owned by the customer, is compulsory both indoors and outdoors, both in the presence of several people and in the proximity of other people who are not living in the same household.

Anyone from a foreign country who is arriving on the island must register at this website: https://www.costruiresalute.it/covid-19/scheda_registrazione.php.

🔵 YOU HAVE TO TAKE A QUICK SWAB TEST AT THE AIRPORT
All individuals from foreign countries, for which there are no particular restrictions, will be subjected to an examination that includes the rapid swab test directly upon their arrival in Sicily. You can also show a certificate of having carried out the swab test, with a negative result, within 72 hours prior to arrival.

🔵 ALL RESTAURANTS AND PLACES SERVING FOOD AND DRINKS ARE CLOSED
Consumption at a table in any restaurants, cafeterias, pastry shops, and bars is not allowed. Take away and delivery service are authorized until 10pm. It is forbidden to consume food and drinks in open public spaces.

🔵 MUSEUMS AND TOURIST ATTRACTIONS ARE CLOSED
Any kind of indoor tourist attractions, including museums, are closed.

🔵 ALL SHOWS ARE SUSPENDED
Arcades, betting, bingo, and casino activities are suspended. Public performances in theaters, concert halls, movie theaters, and other outdoor spaces are suspended.

🔵 STORES AND SALONS ARE OPEN
Retail activities are held on the condition that it is assured, in addition to the interpersonal distance of at least one meter, that the entrances to the premises are delayed and that it is forbidden to linger inside the spaces more than the time necessary for the purchase of goods.

🔵 CURFEW IS FROM 10PM TO 5AM
The government has imposed a curfew starting at 10pm. This means that no one is authorised to stay outside except for business, health, or another true need.

🔵 WHAT TO DO IN CASE YOU NEED HELP
The Sicilian health system is ready to face and manage the situation. In addition to the 112 telephone numbers dedicated to emergencies, the Sicilian Region has arranged the toll free number 800458787 to ensure any kind of assistance in a Coronavirus emergency.

More specifically, information and assistance are provided regarding the actions taken on the national territory and in Sicily. This service, which is active 24 hours a day, has also been provided to counter the spread of unreliable data and false news.
