Great snatch block, but grease first.
I purchased this snatch block and was a little leary about A $25 snatch block. After reading the reviews and not always trusting jeepers (I know a lot of them and most have the winch and the lift and all the bells and whistles and yet most jeeps never see the off road or ever use the winch or rigging) I decided to buy it.
I used it this weekend to haul logs up a hill. We secured the snatch block to a tree and ran a 200' 3/8" cable through it to haul trees we cut down up to a place where we could buck the trees into logs for fire wood. The Snatch block was superb. We put more strain on it than any jeeper ever would and it did awesome.
The only problem is I didn't grease it before we used it (we didn't have any with us) and because of the lack of grease the friction on wheel caused the axel to pop off. I pretty much trashed the sucker, but it saved our butts. I am pretty sure it can be saved.
would I buy it again? Yes. I just purchased a second. Is it worth the $25. Hell yes. Its a great product, just make sure you grease the thing before you haul 25 trees up a steep hill.
