Roller Skate Vlog | BEACHSIDE SUNSETS & FAREWELL TO MY VINTAGE SKATES !

The final beachside journey for my 1970's vintage skates.

They essentially irrevocably disintegrated in the last leg of this journey, shortly after riding under the Santa Monica Pier. You can see in the first shot, they were not in great shape to begin with, but definitely unusable after this!

The lace snapped, which was basically the only thing left holding them together. After that, these vintage skates were SHREDDED. I made it back to the cars rolling on them, but barely !

These were my first skates after finding them in my aunt's closet once upon a time. She used to roll around Venice in these back in the 70's. I'm still mourning the loss of this multi-generational connection. Hard to think of a better way to be introduced to the beautiful wheeled world!
