The Taliban has taken over the glitzy mansion of Afghanistan’s former vice-president Abdul Rashid Dostum in Kabul. Featuring amenities unimaginable to many ordinary Afghans, the residence contains a labyrinthine amount of lounges, an indoor swimming pool and even a fully equipped gym. Dostum is widely suspected of profiting from corruption in the previous government. The Taliban says the mansion’s opulence is a result of years of endemic corruption.
