Ellie's Adventure (From Near Death to Smiling Success)
Ellie was born in a part of the world where people with disabilities are believed to be cursed by God. Rebecca, who was volunteering abroad, met Ellie when as she was close to death at only 9 months old. Realizing that Ellie’s only chance at life was advanced medical care, Rebecca spent three years in a foreign country to gain eligibility to adopt her. Now Ellie is smiling, healthy and learning to communicate with assistive technology.
Ellie's diagnoses include spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, microcephaly, polymicrogyria and epilepsy.
