Ali Akbar Khan - Sarod
All Rakha - Tabla
Never heard before: The Unpublished Rarities - a unique collection of Indian Classical Music concerts.
This masterpiece is shared by Dr. Harshey. At the end of the darbar era the noblesse of the Indian society felt responsible for organizing cultural events and thus supporting art and artists as well. Dr. Harshey's family also invited all the great artists of the 50s and 60s to give concerts at their house in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh, India).
It is a true journey through time and space from the golden era of Indian Classical Music, all the great musicians of old times. All the recordings are kindly remastered without losing the fine musical touch of the maestros.
This musical masterpiece was recorded with an old roll tape recorder. Each roll was approx. 30 minutes long. Sometimes the tape was physically damaged (scretched, crushed), so especially at the end of the recordings the music can be a bit damaged.
An extra colour: you can hear the reactions of the adjoining audience in the house.
Enjoy!
