Braun Strowman - was he really a Strongman? Contest ACTION!

Adam Scherr before he became the WWE Superstar BRAUN STROWMAN In this video he flew last minute to the lions den in Poland.

Adam had overcome some bad jet lag on this day to take on a truly fierce line up of WSM finalists and European strongman greats at that time - such as Krzysztof Radzikowsdki, Mateusz Baron, Russian Weightlifter and Worlds Strongest Man runner-up Misha Koklyaev, and 3 x WSM finalist Mark Felix.

Adam agreed late in the day to hop on a standard sized airplane seat and fly three flights to come and compete with these guys and get a shot at Qualifying for the World's Strongest Man in 2012.

Adam Scherr stands a genuine 6' foot 8" and he weighed in at a hefty 400lbs on the day - or in metric he was then roughly 180kg.

Adam, in comparison the other other man, came into this contest doing his first ever international pro contest. He was very inexperienced and yet excelled at certain aspects such as the farmers walk - 160kg in each hand, but got shocked by the tyre which at 1000lbs and with almost no hand grips made it a nightmare to be flipped when you first try it.

There is always a home field advantage in sport, AND it was often seen as a baptism of fire going to poland and trying to take on the Poles at their own kit. When Adam finally brushed off the jetlag and dizziness he showed his worth and was phenomenal at the Conan's Circle. His grip was also a massively notable strength for him - and the farmers walk - wasn't dropped once despite running with a full 700 lbs of combined weight in his hands, FYI - the weight was dropped by almost all his other competitors at least once in the farmers walk.

Adam finished in 7th overall and he became an obvious candidate for the WSM tester/reserve spot at World's Strongest Man in 2012. A position given to inexperienced men that will gain a lot from seeing the equipment at WSM itself and they compete if injuries occur. Just a few short months later he turned up to WSM and became the testing athlete in all events. Now with no jet lag, he was really impressive. Often testing the events and beating those that actually got the competitors position.

Although Adam's efforts were recorded outside the contest he put in times that were so impressive in the truck pull and then again in the arm over arm test pulls that he caught the eye of WWE legend Mark Henry who was watching. He is a undoubtedly a man who had tremendous potential - but could he have been WSM? Yes - absilutely. No doubt he would have been there pushing for it if WWE had showed too interest, but like all things in strongman it depends on the events and the men you are against, but his ability was fast becoming World Class.
