Hanging Out at Edge Products Diesel Event in Ogden, UT

Every year Edge Products puts on a fantastic event known as Weekend on the Edge (WOTE) as a part of the Edge Pulling Series and the Northwest Dyno Circuit. This event is also made exciting due to it being a UCC qualifier where contestants have the chance to potentially earn a spot in the biggest competition in 2020 as a UCC Competitor. The Amsoil sponsored Northwest Dyno Circuit competition had the crowds lit as they watch diesel pick up after diesel pick up push their engines to incredible limits reaching for the top number for this event. 2019 WOTE had some Impressive numbers for the top HP earners in each of the classes including Austin Eismore with 811 HP in the Edge sponsored Small Single Class, Joshua McCormack with 1014 HP in the FASS sponsored Large Single Class, Justin Archibald with 1004 HP in the SDP sponsored Small Twin Class, Darryl Atkin with 1090 HP in the Big Twin Class, Wayne Yates 1386 HP in the PPE sponsored Unlimited Class and Skyler Regan with 512 HP in the Clean Diesel Class. There were many drivers at this year’s dyno competition which have competed over the years and they had their trucks dialed in and ready to go and some of the drivers had just swapped out different setups and were excited to see what the changes produced. While everyone didn’t come out the top winner, most went home with big smiles on their faces and even bigger dreams for their next competition on the dyno.

As the day set into evening the event switched gears into sled pulling and the loud rumble of engines drew the crowds in a hurry. This year’s competition was loaded with dynamic diesel pick-ups, aggressive gassers, and even adorable youth competitors pulling the sled down the dirt track. This pulling event was intense to witness as trucks, tractors, and drivers like Randy Reyes (Red Delicious) and Tom Hansen (Hybrid) threw down some serious ponies and ate up the track gaining every inch they could in efforts to get the big win. Unfortunately, there were a few heart-wrenching moments as some of the crowd favorites experienced hang-ups at the starting line or as others had parts grenade under the toll of extreme horsepower it took to pull such a massive and heavy sled down a track as slick as this one was. But that is ultimately what makes these events as thrilling as they are. The crowds know that every time a driver hooks up there is a huge risk of some serious damage or a major win. That’s what gets everyone on the edge of their seats. We want to see them win but getting there is what makes the adrenaline rush. At the end of the day, each of the competitive classes had a bright and shining champion ready to battle for the royal title as the King of the Diesels. This event was roaring with fun and excitement and plenty of gear grinding action that didn’t disappoint.

Exciting events like the Weekend on the Edge are never cheap to put on and are mostly due to many fabulous event vendors and but especially because of event sponsors like Edge Products, Alligator Performance, Industrial Injection, Thoroughbred Diesel, Premier Performance, BD Power, ATS Diesel, Dynomite Diesel, Nitro Gear and Axle, and Daily Driven Performance. Their continuing efforts to keep events like this alive and thriving are what keeps the heart of the diesel industry alive. The display of vendors that came to the event showing off their tasty food products, and vendors displaying the latest designs in injectors, programmers, turbos, and even new dually wheels offered on-lookers a lot to see and take in and they all played in a big part in making Weekend on the Edge event such a great success.
