Our second day tour of the Azores focused on the North and South part of São Miguel Island, Portugal. We visited: The town of Ribeira Grande(fontenário), various archeological site of volcanic activities. The church Igreja de São Pedro. In Ribeira Grande we saw the old theater and the main square. The city was famous for being used to be a favorite for the royal family. We Caldeira Velha a popular, scenic nature preserve featuring lush vegetation, a waterfall and hot springs and showers. We also visited Lagoa do Fogo, but it was rather foggy and we could not see a lot. We visited Ceramica Vieira (Ceramic factory in Lagua) and pineapple plantation, and the Cete Cédas lakes from the top and also came down close to it. Again the foggy weather limited our view. We finally visited Sete Cidades town and Mosteiroo.
