This is an educational Vocal Coach analysis of MAPHRA and her cover of “Silence”. Originally released in 2025 by ‘The Plot In You’, with some incredible vocals from Landon Tewers, how does MAPHRA take on this challenge?

We explore the key vocal choices she makes, combining tremolo and vibrato, use of consonants and harnessing contrast between head voice and distortion. Using both vocal fry and fry distortion, MAPHRA has incredible use of texture, creating deep catharsis and emotion and a sound that is unmistakable.

This is the third time that independent artist MAPHRA has featured on the channel, having previously broken down her sensationally viral covers of “Doomed” and “Circle With Me”. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next…
