Several grizzlies challenge over elk!

In the fall of 2015, a twenty year old grizzly claimed a cow elk carcass. She ate well putting on the necessary weight needed for a great winter and to have cubs. She gorged as this elk was in a location with heavy bear travel, including large and dominant males. She tried burying most of it to conceal any odors and scents that would attract other bears, the last thing she needed was competition. Not much was left when indeed, bears started showing up, with the first one being her four year old daughter. Even though there were some chases, and some bluff charges no contact was made. The 4y/o would sneak and steal quick bites when mom would nap or head to the river for a drink. The less there was, the more toleration mom had for her being close. In the end an unknown bear, cleaned up the remains, he was possibly the son to the twenty year old, and sibling to the daughter. Mom wasn't impressed, but once again had a tolerance for him after a year apart. Females tend to avoid making physical contact cause an injury could be detrimental to their survival, rather they posture and vocalize in hopes the other bear backs off. With scraps left, she opted to back off and let the younger bear clean it up. She went to den that winter very fat and healthy, and had two cubs in the spring of 2016.
