2 Tim. 3:7-13

We see this today too. People appear to have Godliness on the surface but once you see their fruit you see that inside they have contentions and rebellious toward God. They have a form of Godliness with their rituals, with their appearnce, but they don't have the love and power of God.

Like the example of how the Pharasees judged others while they themselves broke the 5th commandment by not honoring their fathers and mothers.

Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Tim. 3:7) They seem to be learning but they are not. Something is not right. They don't let the knowledge of the Truth change them. When we come to the knowledge of the Truth, we grow in the faith and go deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. We become more Christlike. It shows. We bear fruit.

There is no progression if there is no deeper understanding of the knowledge of Christ as revealed in the Bible and evidenced in our behavior as Christians. (fruit)

God delivered Paul and will deliver you and me from these trials, tribulations, persecutions. Paul's letter to Timothy is a letter of encouragment, power, and love. We will suffer and evil people will continue to deceive and be deceieved in these Last Days. So we have to beware of these people.
