I Built a Server for My Agency — Is It Worth It in Nepal?

I turned my old PC into a home server for my video editing agency, PD Media.

The goal was simple: reduce manual work, automate parts of our workflow, organize editor uploads, back up files, and see if running our own server actually makes sense for an agency in Nepal.

In this video, I go through the DIY server build, why I decided to make it, what problems I wanted to solve, and the reality of using a server here with internet limitations, upload speeds, power cuts, storage, and remote editor workflows.

This isn’t a crazy enterprise setup. It’s just a practical experiment to see how far a small agency can go with a custom server setup.

Topics covered:

Turning an old PC into a server
Using a server for a video editing agency
Google Drive vs local storage
Automation and task management
Server setup in Nepal
Internet, power, and remote access challenges
Whether it’s actually worth it

My setup:
Ryzen 7 7700
RTX 2060 Super
32GB RAM
Unraid
Google Drive + automation workflow

If you’re running a small agency, editing team, or business in Nepal and thinking about building your own server, this video might help you understand what’s actually practical.
