The BEST Urban Armor Gear Cases for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max?

Urban Armor Gear (UAG) cases haven’t changed that much over the years; But when they do, they often hit it out of the park. UAG Monarch’s new re-design even made it to our Top 10 iPhone 11 Cases (Pro and Pro Max Included!) While UAG Metropolitan and UAG Pathfinder are decent cases that are worth your buck!

The general design of UAG cases hasn’t changed in years. So if you’re familiar with the product, and you want to go with a new UAG case, you won’t be faced with something completely unknown. The UAG Plyo is relatively new and the UAG Monarch has gone through a facelift but the UAG Pathfinder’s and UAG Plasma’s really haven’t changed.

Metropolis (4.2)

Pros:
Great Texture
Cover provides great protection
Wallet case
Cons:
Can only carry one card

UAG Metropolis is a case designed for the on-the-go and it’s one of our favorite on-the-go wallet cases.

The UAG Metropolis offers better protection than most folio cases because the cover attaches to the case itself. The case also has great a great feel to it.

The downside is that the wallet part of the case can only carry one card. This isn’t ideal if you want to keep anything more than a debit card or driver’s license with you.

Plasma (3.9)
Pros:
“Cleaner” clear case
Cons:
Edges are midly slick

The UAG Plasma has a frosted transparent look, so you won’t have to worry about fingerprint smudges. The lowered edges of the case on the sides improve the handling of the phone. The case also has raised corners, which will prevent the back of the phone from being scratched excessively.

The downside is that these case edges are mildly slick, which can be a bit of a problem.

Pathfinder (3.8)
Pros:
Design looks “tough”
Cons:
Edges are mildly slick

The UAG Pathfinder and the UAG Plasma are almost interchangeable. The noticeable difference that sets the UAG Pathfinder apart from the UAG Plasma is that the UAG Pathfinder is offered in solid colors.

Everything else is the same with the UAG Pathfinder, from the lowered edges on the sides of the phone to the slick edges.

Plyo (3.2)
Pros:
Psuedo clear case?
Cons:
Noticeable edges
Edges are quite slick
Fingerprints are noticeable

The UAG Plyo is our least favorite case. The exterior might have a pseudo-transparent look, but one thing’s clear -- your fingerprints. This case doesn’t hide fingerprints well and you’ll find yourself cleaning the exterior of this case often.

There’s some texture on the back, which sets it apart from the other cases. But overall, UAG Plyo is nothing to write home about.

Civilian (3.0)
Pros:
UAG’s thinnest case
Not a typical UAG design

Cons:
Poor handling (not as bad as the Plyo)
Slick
Back will scratch easily

The UAG Civilian is the last UAG case we looked at. It’s the slimmest UAG case, but we wouldn’t consider it to be a “thin” case.

The inside of the UAG Civilian’s case has a pop of color that stands out compared to the base color on the outside of the case. This color is also used as an accent on the corners and top of the case.

The edges of UAG Civilian have a similar texture to another one of our favorites, the Mous Contour.

Monarch (4.2)
Pros:
Leather case (maybe)
Unique design
Handles extremely well

Cons:
Extremely noticeable edges
Bulkier than the average case

The UAG Monarch definitely lives up to its name. It feels classy and handles well in a way that makes us feel like we should start watching Netflix’s The Crown.

But in all seriousness, this is one of our favorite cases. The unique design allows you to handle your phone easily in the case. Compared to previous versions of UAG Monarch, there’s less branding on this case since it’s been updated for the iPhone 11.

UAG Monarch is marketed as a leather case but we wouldn't consider it to be entirely leather since only the part of the back is covered with that material.

The downside to UAG Monarch is that you really notice the edges and it’s bulkier than the average case.

Speaking of taking notice, you might also see that the back of the case has a raised back, this reduces the wear and tear on the case itself. Longevity seems to be a common theme with Monarchs.
