Sampling particles in the air
This video shows how airborne particles in the wind would interact with an air sampling device. Note that air sample is drawn downward through the tube at the bottom of the device. The video is based on CFD simulation using a Reynolds stress turbulence model. Particles are shown much larger than the actual size for clarity. Understanding interaction between airborne particles and air sampling devices is important for protecting public health, homeland security, and the environment.
