CEO Of Food Rescue Organization On How To Help The Millions Suffering From Food Insecurity

I chatted with Jilly Stephens, Chief Executive Officer of City Harvest, on Instagram Live. City Harvest is New York City’s largest food rescue which fed more than 1.5 million New Yorkers yearly before the pandemic. Now as the unemployment rate soars because of shutdowns, they will be feeding even more. “The number of New Yorkers who are officially food insecure is about to grow to 1.6 million this year,” Jilly said. She continued, ”Financial donations are the most efficient and most effective way to help us get more food out to New Yorkers. And for others around the country you can visit FeedingAmerica.org to find find your local pantry. Even a $13 donation will help us deliver 10 pounds of food.”
