How to Catch a Crayfin - Cat Goes Fishing: Caverns and Coral

The crayfin has a symbiotic relationship with the chompy. While the crayfin acts as the chompy's eyes, the chompy protects the crayfin from predators. In order to catch a crayfin, you must show it a gesture of good will by catching and releasing a chompy. If you land the chompy instead of releasing it, the crayfin will immediately flee and remain far from your boat.
