The Futility of Choice in: The Sound of Music & Cabaret
Cabaret and The Sound of Music both ask us to put ourselves in the shoes of semi-fictional characters in the world of 1930-1938 Nazi Germany, and the Anschluss (annexation) of Austria. When you have no choice to run away and start again, what would you do?
