Operation Paperclip – How Nazi Scientists Helped Launch NASA

🚀 After Germany’s surrender in 1945, the U.S. quietly began Operation Paperclip — a secret mission to bring over more than 1,600 German scientists, engineers, and technicians to America.

Among them was Wernher von Braun, a former German rocket scientist whose team had designed the V-2 rocket, one of WWII’s most advanced weapons.
In the postwar years, von Braun’s expertise became crucial to the U.S. space program, helping to create the Saturn V rocket that carried astronauts to the Moon.

What began as a wartime intelligence operation became the foundation of America’s space age — and one of the most controversial chapters in history.

⚙️ From Nazi rockets to NASA’s moon missions — history’s strangest transition.
