All too often when I've been making making cable runs, I've forgotten to place my heat shrink tubing over the cable before cutting / crimping on a terminal. This isn't an issue if you haven't already crimped the terminal on the other end of the cable or have extra larger heat shrink, You can just slip the heat shrink up the cable, but if you've already added your terminal and the heat shrink it won't go over the terminal, this video shows what I do.
