Tips for Entering Cosplay Contests

As convention season heats up, more and more cosplayers vent their frustrations on contests, or start working on costumes they intend on competing with. It can be downright daunting to compete, but it doesn't have to be! These are some nuggets of wisdom(?) I've gathered from my experiences entering and judging craftsmanship contests. I also wanted to keep stage presentation separate, since that's another breed of advice entirely.

I could go on and on, and I'm sure there's stuff I left out, but I tried to keep this under 10 minutes and cover the major things that came to mind for brevity. If you have a question, please let me know!

Also, winning or not winning do not define your worth as a cosplayer! Regardless of the outcome, it's a great way to learn, meet new friends, and improve. :)
