But as talented a writer as he is, with his whip smart dissection of race in today’s society, he might actually be underrated as a director. While the imagery he’s created with films like Get Out and Us, is iconic on its own merits, his best work is more intimate than that. Jordan Peele is the latest master practicing in the fine art of horror film close ups. As Nope hits theaters, it’s time take a look at the legacy he’s a part of and just how his close ups make him one of the greatest to ever point a camera.
