Oakland Zoo gondolas - with scenic views of Downtown Oakland, Mount Tam, and the San Francisco Bay

Gondolas go back and forth at the Oakland Zoo, taking people to and from the California Trail at the top of the Oakland Hills. In the background is Downtown Oakland, the Port of Oakland cranes, the San Francisco Bay, Angel Island, and Mount Tamalpais. The gondolas, built by Swiss company Doppelmayr Gruppe, take zoo visitors on a 4-minute trip up to the new California Trail exhibit, with panoramic views of six counties and zoo animals below like bison, camels, and elephants.
