How to Optimize the Production Schedule in PlanetTogether – CPG and F&B Edition

This is how to optimize the production schedule in PlanetTogether. When you run optimization the system creates a schedule according to constraints and rules in place. The production scheduler uses this approach to create a realistic schedule that conforms to constraints, preferences, and user choices such as locked resources, and performs well against target metrics.

📌 Step-by-step instructions to establish optimization rules in PlanetTogether:
1. Click Settings in upper left corner
2. Select Scenario Data then click Optimize Rules
3. Click New or Copy to create an optimization rule, or double click an existing optimization rule to modify it
4. Expand sections in the dialogue box, and make changes to the rule
5. Click Apply then Save and Close to close the dialogue box
6. Click the back button in upper left to close the settings screen

📌 Step-by-step instructions to run optimization in PlanetTogether:
1. Click Optimize
2. Use dropdown to select when to start optimization
3. Click checkboxes for jobs to exclude
4. Use dropdowns to select which optimization rules to use
5. Use dropdown to select which headstart to use
6. Toggle checkbox to auto join manufacturing orders
7. Click Optimize button to run optimization
