Decluttering Tips Day 2: Tossing Out Old and Expired makeup! 💄
 
Did you know that all those beautiful products we buy have a pretty short shelf life? 😭 You want to ensure you are removing expired makeup from your beauty routine for a healthy and fresh face. So you do not clog or hurt your skin!
 
I am probably the worst at this… I never want to toss something that looks full and new, so I get that this one may be a challenge for some, and do what works best for you!  😍Throw out what you feel needs to and use these as guidelines—if needed! 📐
 
Let’s note a few of the main products and when they expire.
-Expiring after 2 years: Powered blush, lipstick and eyeliner pencils.  👀
-Expiring after 1 year: Concealer, liquid foundation, cream blush, eyeshadows, lip-gloss and nail polish 💅
-And expiring after 3 months: Mascara, liquid eyeliner and cream eyeliner. 👁️
 
As my products expire, I am beginning to toss them and ONLY replacing them with products I can use daily and maybe a few special occasion ones. So I did not toss a bunch out today but am doing so over time too! Which may be best for you too, if you have a slim supply already! 💋
 
When purging your makeup, this is a great time to clean out the drawers too! 🧼 Remove everything, toss expired, broken and old products. Vacuum out the drawers and clean them with multipurpose cleaner and wipe down the boxes or bottles of each item. So you can enjoy a much easier and quicker way to get ready in the morning! ☀️
