Mooney Ovation challenging RWY 18 Landings at Cannon Creek (15FL)

Landing on Rwy 18 at 15FL can be challenging. It goes downhill at least at a 0.6 degree angle and also has trees on the approach end that are about 70 feet tall on a hill that is about 30 feet above the displaced threshold. That means 100 feet above the threshold about 1,600 feet from it right at the approach course. That means at least a 6 degree slope.

The runway also has a dip in it which is easy to land on and therefore get a bounce from it. Best to land beyond the dip.

Any crosswind has the wind dipping into the hole the trees make at the approach end and therefore creating downdrafts. Not very good when on a steep approach and if too slow.

A CFII friend of mine that lives at Cannon Creek says this is the most hazardous runway in North Florida, specially at NIGHT!!! Cannot see the trees at night!!
