17 Hours on a Plane - Etihad to LAX

16.5-hour long-haul from Abu Dhabi to LAX with incredibly clear skies and sunlight the entire way, including over the polar icecap. I give a thumbs-up to Etihad for the ground and in-flight service and seat comfort, which is very good for economy. Meals were average, nothing special, but not bad either. I fly Qatar Airways often, and I think my Etihad experience was better. Also, Abu Dhabi airport is much easier to depart from than Qatar with automated passport exit controls for all passengers, very fast security lines and especially US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance, which makes arriving in the USA as easy as arriving on any domestic flight, including onward connections for baggage without reclaim in Los Angeles. Apps used: "GPS Test" for heading and position (yes, you get GPS signal if you hold the phone by the window), "Google Maps" used offline for mapping, "Samsung S9+ Hyper-lapse" for fast-motion.
