Skullbone 2012 - DORSET DEBRIS HUNTERS - Longer Version

Scottsdale High students lead the final Coastwatchers expedition into the remote south-west wilderness! Our 2012 program (www.bookendtrust.com/coastwatchers ) resulted in over 2,000 school kids collecting over 36,000 pieces of plastic pollution and other marine debris from beaches around the coastline of Tasmania, weighing nearly 2,000kg. Thousands more students watched the progress of this combined Expedition Class and Skullbone project online.

Most schools participated in cleanups for a day at a time, but four lucky schools took part in a series of week long adventures. We previously uploaded a preview of Scottsdale High's trip to Melaleuca and the remote South West Wilderness World Heritage Area. Here's the full version!
