Insurance Adjuster Jobs: Cat Claims vs Daily Claims (Lifestyle & Salary)

So you’re thinking about a career as an insurance claims adjuster, but you’ve got no experience yet. One of the first questions adjuster trainees ask is, do I have to travel all over the country, or can I just handle claims right where I call home?

That’s what I want to answer in this video. I’ll review the difference between catastrophe (CAT) claims and daily claims, and share a bit of my own story to help you see what each path is really like.

I actually started out doing CAT work during the 2004 hurricane season in Florida. It was intense. Long days, tough deployments, but also a really rewarding pay. Later, I moved into daily claims. That work was steadier, local, and gave me more time with my family, even though the pay wasn’t quite as high.

Both paths have their pros and cons, and in this video I’ll share my experience so you can get a feel for each and figure out which is the better fit for you.
