Making a Ceramic Tile and Dental Plaster Grinding Tool for the 20" f/4.5 Telescope Mirror
Gordon Waite demonstrates how to make a long-lasting grinding tool from dental plaster and ceramic tile. This tool is designed for hogging with very rough abrasives, to remove a lot of glass from the face of the telescope mirror. Quartz is harder than borosilicate glass, so you need a grinding tool that is up to the job!
