Making a giant 43Wh battery grip for the Canon 800D
You cannot buy a battery grip this good. It even doubles as an AC adapter, and it can power a second camera.
When this project started, there were NO battery grips available for the 800D at all. Since then, a few Chinese distributors have launched 800D compatible grips, so if you want to build your own, I'd recommend starting with an 800D grip rather than the 760D grip that I used. The Meike branded ones (or others with the battery tray that slides out the side) will probably work well, although you do need to grind out a lot of plastic in order to fit cells larger than 2 Ah.
Ebay search link for the batteries used (it took a while to find these!): https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2057872.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X5550115.TRS0&_nkw=5550115&_sacat=0
HUGE thanks go out to all the Patreon supporters of the channel, as I had to buy about $150 worth of lipo cells in order to figure out which actually fit for maximum volumetric efficiency.
