BMW E39 High OBC Hidden Menus | EvoMalaysia.com

The BMW E39's onboard electronics are pretty advanced for its time, and still surpasses many present day cars.

Here, I show you a few hidden diagnostic functions hidden inside the instrument cluster on-board computer.

The E39 had two grades of instrument clusters, and the one in my car is commonly known as the High OBC, which is the higher of two instrument cluster variants available.

From the BMW UK forum (https://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/73892-hidden-menu-options/), was able to obtain the meaning behind the Test 14 fault codes:
01 Fuel consuming signal from engine control unit faulty
02 Fuel consuming signal (ti-II) from engine control unit faulty
03 Road signal from ABS/ASC/DSC control unit faulty
04 RPM (tD) from engine control unit faulty
05 Coolant temperature sensor faulty
06 Temperature sensor
07 Outside temperature sensor
08 Fuel level sensor 1 (Fuel pump side)
09 Fuel level sensor 2 (without fuel pump)
10 Tension to high at the power supply
11 EGS signal disturbed
12 Power supply Pin 15
13 Power supply Pin R
14 Service Interval Display (SAI) Reset
15 Pressure Switch
16 Gong Sound (T1)
17 Gong Sound (T2)
18 Gong Sound (T3)
19 Current too high in the instrument cluster
20 Internal error in the LCM module
