What to do when THE exercise for herniated discs doesn't work...

If you've looked around Youtube- or maybe even gone to PT- and THE most commonly recommended exercise for herniated discs (prone pressup or cobra) is not working... what should you be doing next?
Surely you can't give up...
So here's two options to try. In some cases- straight backwards (or forwards) bending isn't enough to help relieve the pressure from a disc herniation. Instead- you must work in the side to side direction to reduce the disc herniation first- then go back into the pressups or standing backbend. YOU must get back to the pressups or backbends... this is the final step.
So, if you've been trying the pressups or cobra.. or standing backbends. Try one of the two options in this video-- before you do... get a baseline of what you're feeling and where you are feeling it. As you go through 10 repetitions... ask yourself "same...better...or worse." If you notice that the pain, numbness, or tingling furthest away from the body-- or furthest down the leg get better... then keep going. If as you do these exercises you notice things get worse... then STOP.
Pick the one exercises that gives you the most relief... try this for a week or so 10x every 2 hours... then try your pressups or back bends again... you may notice that they are now more effective than they were before.
