IDF continues operations against Hamas terrorists in Gaza

The Israeli army on Tuesday (December 19) released footage showing what it said was the army targeting Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

The video also showed what the army said was a clinic in Gaza's Shejaiya neighbourhood, where they said they ''discovered a shrapnel shell explosive.''

Shejaiya, is where military officials described last week as an area of intense combat in northern Gaza where Hamas terrorists operate in civilian attire and use deception tactics. It is also where the military killed three Israeli hostages by mistake on Friday (December 15).

In the ground war, where Israel has lost 132 soldiers, tanks advanced further into the southern city of Khan Younis and shelled a market area but met heavy resistance, residents said.

Thousands of Hamas fighters, based in tunnel networks, are waging guerrilla-style war against Israeli forces.

"The IDF is continuing to operate against Hamas terrorist infrastructure and operatives in the Gaza Strip," the Israeli military said in a statement.

Reuters was not able to confirm the location or date the videos were filmed.
