The 7Sus2 chord (or 9th, no 3rd) is a great way to cover all of the common chord types with only two basic and easy to play voicings. We discuss a bit of jazz theory and the modes that these voicings are drawn from, the Locrian and the Aeolian b5 scales (or half diminished), and I show you how to imply all of the common chord types with these two chord shapes- Major 7, Minor 7, Minor 7b5, Dominant 7 and Altered Chords as well as Lydian and Major 13 chords.
