Italy's tourist hotspot Lake Como battered by floods

Europe has been plagued by devastating weather this month as flooding in Germany and Belgium killed more than 200 people while Italy has seen landslides triggered by torrential rain. But flooding isn't the only concern. Authorities in Sardinia and Turkey are grappling with wildfires that are raging across the land and destroying thousands of acres as more than 1,500 people have been forced to evacuate. Wildfires also destroyed more than 1,500 hectares in Spain's northeastern region of Catalonia at the weekend while firefighters in Greece battled around 50 fires in 24 hours on Sunday. Meanwhile, Germany and Belgium are still grappling with the devastation caused by flooding - some of the worst to hit Europe in decades - two weeks ago.
