Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that border security is a key concern for the state as it shares its borders with Bangladesh, Assam and Mizoram. Addressing a press conference on his participation in the recent NITI Aayog meeting, Dr. Saha emphasized the need for heightened vigilance to ensure effective border management and security.

The Chief Minister said that smart border fencing is set to be developed in the state as part of efforts to strengthen border surveillance. He informed that the first pilot project for smart border fencing has already been launched in Tripura, marking the beginning of a technology-driven approach to border security in the state.
