Metra Vs Truck Aftermath

On the morning of Wednesday May 11, 2022 a Inbound Metra commuter train hit a stalled box truck in Clarendon Hills Illinois. Tracks are the BNSF's Chicago West Service. The collision occurred just west of the towns Depot and the truck was spun around and exploded, and partially burned up. The truck Driver, and two others were able to escape before the collision. The impact gouged a hole across the side of the Cab Car and a passenger was ejected. The train was able to stop before it hit the end of the platform. Video shows a lot of the Emergency Services that came in from all over the area. The Metra Police were out in force and the Illinois State Police were also present.
