In the previous videos, we installed and configured a WireGuard VPN Server on a Linux VPS, then set up WireGuard Clients on Windows, Android, and Debian-based systems such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

In this video, we will continue with RHEL-based operating systems, such as Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, or other RHEL-compatible distributions. The goal is to use the .conf client profile created from the WireGuard Server, install the WireGuard Client on a RHEL-based machine, activate the VPN tunnel, and verify the connection to the WireGuard VPN Server.

The WireGuard Client setup on RHEL-based Linux is quite similar to Ubuntu/Debian. However, there are a few small differences, such as using dnf to install the wireguard-tools package, creating the WireGuard configuration directory if it does not already exist, and enabling systemd-resolved to help handle DNS when the tunnel is activated.

In this video, I will walk you through the process step by step: refreshing repository metadata, installing WireGuard tools, checking the DNS support service, copying the client profile into the WireGuard configuration directory, securing the configuration file permissions, starting the tunnel with wg-quick, checking the connection status with the wg command, and verifying Internet access and public IP routing through the WireGuard VPN Server.

Main topics covered:

🔹Install WireGuard Client on Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, or RHEL-based Linux
🔹Refresh repository metadata using dnf
🔹Install the wireguard-tools package
🔹Enable and check systemd-resolved
🔹Copy the .conf client profile into the WireGuard directory
🔹Secure the configuration file to protect the private key
🔹Start the WireGuard tunnel using wg-quick
🔹Check connection status with the wg command
🔹Test Internet access through WireGuard VPN
🔹Verify the public IP to confirm VPN routing
🔹Disconnect the VPN when it is no longer needed

This video is useful for anyone using Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, or other RHEL-based Linux distributions who wants to connect their Linux machine to a private WireGuard VPN Server.
