"Millennial Bundist" is an attempt at carrying the musical tradition of the Jewish Labor Bund, the largest Yiddish-speaking socialist party in pre-war Eastern Europe, into the 21st century. It is not only a revival of Yiddish protest songs, but also an attempt at politically interpreting popular Yiddish folk and theater songs that acquire new meaning in today's world. Aside from performing them in concert, I have performed them in squatted houses, occupied university buildings, at political protests, for labor unions and at environmental civil disobedience actions. My aim is not to resurrect a lost world, but to cultivate the continuity of radical Jewish culture.
