Wire Bending Lesson Lingual Arch #1

This Ortho lab video demonstrates how to bend a Lingual Arch. Otherwise known in the Ortho world as (Arch Length Maintainer, Mandibular Holding Arch, and Bilateral Space Maintainer to name a few.) This appliance is more for an intermediate to advanced wire bender. It requires a lot of Patience and Practice to become efficient. If you are having a problem making everything symmetrical or what I like to refer as "Balanced" Start over and try again.
In this video I refer to a "step down bend" it is not necessary but, it helps make bending loops easier by getting away from teeth and tissue. It was also developed to allow an Oral Surgeon to extract any Bicuspid tooth without having to remove appliance and reorder another appliance if necessary.
