"SEND A SMILE PROGRAM" IN KITCHENER-WATERLOO REGION: Be a SMILE AMBASSADOR now (Ontario, Canada)

Send a Smile Program is a non-profitable organization in Kitchener-Waterloo Region, Ontario that is founded by Jennifer Brown. This unprecedented season, essential employees are continuing their job to keep our society working and helping others. They are the new heroes in this era as they sacrifice and staking themselves instead of staying home and taking care of others.

COVID-19 cases are still increasing especially in the retirement homes and residences which our beloved elderlies are high risk to this virus as they are affected and get ill. This is a devastating situation for them as no one is allowed to visit them as protocol for most of care homes.

That is why “Send a Smile Program” was initiated by writing messages and give it to the residents and staff of the retirement homes in Kitchener-Waterloo Region in Ontario, Canada. This helps motivate and encourage our front liners that they are really appreciated, and they are doing a great great job. Same thing to our elderlies who are staying inside the retirement homes and not able to see their friends and families outside the residences.

Cards with uplifting and inspiring messages that were handwritten and made by Smile Ambassadors, is one of the tools for them not to give up and continue helping their residents. Motivating our elderlies is also the goal of this program not to be lonely and to be optimistic in this season.

For those who are in Kitchener-Waterloo area, you can also be a Smile Ambassador. We can deliver and pick up the cards to your house and making sure of physical distancing. And for those people who wanted to be part but not in the area, you can visit our Facebook Page “Send a Smile Waterloo Region” and join our contest by sending your 4 favourite photos to sendasmile.wr@gmail.com and if your photos are chosen, it will be printed in the card and give it to retirement homes.

Remember that in this season, there isn’t any small or big help that we can offer. Every hand that we give in different ways is a great comfort to others.
