Wielding the Tonfa: Up and Over - Basic Grappling Technique against a Bo
Tashi Peter Carbone and Sensei Jay Penfil, both of the Ryukodo Weapons Society, demonstrate techniques with the traditional Okinawan weapon, the tonfa. Watch as these guys "play" thru variations of techniques versus a bo, grappling with the opponent, blocking, striking, locking and manipulating the opponent to gain control. Here they demonstrate using the tonfa to block/strike against a bo, and control the assailant to the ground. The Weapons Society (Ryukyute Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai - meaning Hand of Ryukyu Old Warriors Art Weapons Preservation Society) holds a Weapons Camp several times throughout the year.
