Music for Peace - concert dedicated to the Memory of Saint Pope John Paul II & in support of Ukraine

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall, in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine, organized a concert “Music for Peace” dedicated to the Memory of Saint Pope John Paul II and in support of Ukraine.

The concert was held on March 30, 2022, at 7:00PM at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica.

The concert featured the following artists:

Stephanie Piercey Beames – soprano
Adam Michalak – tenor
Mariusz Monczak – violin solo
Steven Massicotte – piano solo
Marina Krejcarova – soprano
Solomia Chabursky – soprano
Ensemble Con Brio de Montréal

The program included two world premieres of compositions by John Sarkissian and Krzysztof Niegowski, works by Chopin, Bach, Paderewski, Lysenko, Orel, Morricone, Skoryk, Gomez, Franck, Jenkins and Ukrainian folk songs. Selected readings of Saint Pope John Paul II’s reflections and literary works were presented by actress Liliana Komorowska.
